SERVICE INFORMATION

Symptom 205000 Electrical Accessories

ISSUE

After programming Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM) using SDD DVD136 Patch 2 (or later), it will be noticed that the Passive Entry System operates only when the key is held close to the door handle, typically within a range of 10 centimeters. This is a default mode as a result of the software download.

In addition the smart key range within the vehicle may also be reduced and the 'Smart Key Not Found' message may appear on the Instrument Cluster. If this is the case, it will be necessary to follow the keyless start back up strategy with reference to the owner's handbook

CAUSE

Software compatibility.

ACTION

With immediate effect, DO NOT carry out a download to the KVM or add/replace additional keys on any Range Rover 13MY until further notice.

A new Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) patch file is currently being developed to restore normal functionality and will be released in the next few days.

NOTE: 14MY Range Rover and all other models are not affected.
NOTE: The vehicle can still be locked/unlocked as normal using the buttons on the remote key fob.
