Content
During the P046 campaign, the Occupant Classification Module software update may fail.
CAUSE
Due to the Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) fault that the P046 campaign is designed to fix, some modules may fail to respond correctly to an SDD programming request.
ACTION
In the event of the software update failing, please follow the instructions below starting with 'Method 1'
Method 1
- Locate and run 'Configure Existing Restraints Occupant Classification System Module' from SDD
- Once the software download parts confirmation screen is presented, switch the vehicle ignition OFF
- Press the on screen green tick to continue
- Turn the ignition back ON when SDD displays a blue scroll bar in the centre of the screen. This should be within 10 seconds of pressing the green tick on the software download confirmation screen.
- If the software download fails, there will be an option presented to 'retry'. Select 'retry' and perform the above steps again. Should the download fail 10 consecutive times please try the steps detailed below in method 2
Method 2
- Select 'Configure Existing Restraints occupant classification system module' from SDD
- Once the software download parts confirmation screen is presented, refer to the Supplemental Restraints System section of the relevant electrical wiring diagram and remove the fuse for the Sensor Occupancy Detector.
- Press the on screen green tick to continue
- Refit the fuse for the Sensor Occupancy Detector when SDD displays a blue scroll bar in the centre of the screen. This should be within 10 seconds of pressing the green tick on the software download confirmation screen.
- If the download fails again, please contact your local Technical Helpdesk for assistance
