ISSUE
JLR is investigating customers reporting iPhone 12 with MagSafe not charging when using the Wireless Device Charger feature.
PLEASE NOTE - Pivi vehicles only
CAUSE
Wireless Device Charger Module (WDCM) doesn't support with new iPhone 12 MagSafe feature.
ACTION
This procedure requires a minimum of Pathfinder (325) loaded or later.
- Connect the JLR approved battery support unit.
- Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new session.
- Follow the JLR approved diagnostic equipment prompts.
- Select 'ECU Diagnostics'.
- Select 'WDCM'
- Confirm the current WDCM software level
- If the WDCM is at AA or AB level, please replace the WDCM hardware following TOPIx section 415-01 and continue with the steps below. If at AC level, please continue to update the software following the steps below
- Select 'Update ECU'.
- Follow all on-screen instructions to complete the task.
- When all of the tasks are complete, exit the session.
- Disconnect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and the JLR approved battery support unit.
- Confirm the Wireless Device Charger Module (WDCM) charges the iPhone 12
