Functional Test

  1. Using jumper wires, connect vacuum actuator terminals No. 1 and No. 2 to battery positive terminal. Connect negative lead to terminal No. 3. Slowly apply 12 in. Hg of vacuum to vacuum actuator and ensure control cable is pulled smoothly.
  2. With 12 in. Hg of vacuum applied to actuator, ensure control cable does not retract. Some vacuum actuator leakage is allowable. Disconnect terminal No. 1 and ensure control cable returns to its original position. See Figure. If operation is not as specified, replace vacuum actuator.
