Intermittent Feature Test

  1. Disconnect wiper/washer switch connector. See Fig 1. Move switch lever to INT position. Turn interval wheel to FAST position. Apply battery positive to terminal No. 16 and battery negative to terminal No. 2. Connect voltmeter between terminals No. 7 (+) and 2 (-). If battery voltage does not exist, replace switch. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
  2. Leave battery and voltmeter connected. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 2 and 17. Voltage should rise from zero volts to battery voltage after about 2 seconds. With time interval wheel in SLOW position, voltage should rise from zero volts to battery voltage in about 5-15 seconds. If voltage is not as specified, replace switch.
