Preliminary Procedure: Notes

NOTE: DTCs may be retrieved by scan tool or by using jumper wire and the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on instrument panel. If scan tool is used to retrieve DTCs, a specified DTC may be displayed and a specified diagnostic test will exist for the specified DTC. If using jumper wire and the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on instrument panel to display DTCs, the MIL will only display a DTC 99 that indicates a problem exists in the engine immobilizer system. The problem is then diagnosed by the trouble symptom.
