Ignition Switch Circuit

  1. Remove tilt and telescopic control module and leave harness connectors connected. With ignition on, measure voltage between tilt and telescopic control module 8-pin connector T9, terminal No. 4 (Black/White wire) and ground. See Figure. Voltage should be 10-16 volts with ignition on and less than one volt with ignition off. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING and perform the next test listed.
  2. Check ECU-IG (15-amp) fuse in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is okay, check for open Black/White wire between fuse block and tilt and telescopic control module connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If fuse is blown, repair short in Black/White wire.
