Tilt & Telescopic Control Module Power Supply Circuit

  1. Remove tilt and telescopic control module with harness connectors connected. With ignition off, measure voltage between tilt and telescopic control module 8-pin connector T9, terminal No. 1 (Blue/White wire) and No. 6 (White/Black wire). See Figure. If voltage is not 8-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 8-16 volts, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING and perform the next test listed.
  2. Measure resistance between tilt and telescopic control module 8-ipn connector T9, terminal No. 6 and ground. If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is not less than one ohm, repair open in White/Black wire between control module connector T9, terminal No. 6 and ground (at upper bolt on instrument panel junction block, in left kick panel). See WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  3. Check ECU-B (15-amp) fuse. If fuse is okay, check for open in White/Blue wire between tilt and telescopic control module connector T9, terminal No. 1 and fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If fuse is blown, repair short in White/Blue wire between tilt and telescopic control module. Replace fuse and recheck.
