Using Scan Tool

  1. Connect hand-held tester to (DLC3). See Figure.
  2. Start engine and push height select switch to adjust vehicle height to "N" position.
  3. Turn ignition switch off. Adjust torsion bar spring so that difference between right and left in vehicle height is less than .39 inches (10 mm). To reduce difference, adjust both sides by same amount.
  4. Start engine and push height select switch to adjust vehicle height from "N" to "LO" then back to "N" position.
  5. Turn ignition switch off. Read pressure value of front shock absorber with hand-held tester. Pressure should be 925-1067 PSI (6378-7357 kPa). Cylinder pressure read by hand-held tester is estimated by pump emitted pressure so pressure is approximately 171 PSI (1179 kPa) higher than pressure read by (LSPV) gauge. If value is not within specification, adjust torsion bar spring. Make sure ignition is off. There is approximately 28 PSI (194 kPa) change when both right and left adjusting bolts are turned one turn. Pressure rises when adjusting bolts are loosened. Normal pressure should be 953-1039 PSI (6571-7164 kPa).
  6. Start engine and push height select switch to adjust vehicle height to "N" position.
  7. Check fluid level.
