Section 459 (Sliding Roof System): Disassembly

  1. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR PANEL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, slide the drive cable rearward.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 4 screws and wind deflector panel.

  2. REMOVE DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and drive gear assembly.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and map lamp bracket from the gear.
    3. Disconnect the connector.

  3. REMOVE CABLE GUIDE CASING 
    1. Remove the 10 screws.
    2. Slide the drive cables forward.
    3. Remove the cable guide casing.
  4. REMOVE ROOF DRIP CHANNEL 

    Remove the roof drip channel from the drive cables.

  5. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF CASING 

    Remove the 12 screws and sliding roof casing.

  6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE BLOCKS 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Slide the sliding roof guide block forward to remove it.
    3. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  7. REMOVE DRIVE CABLE STOPPERS 

    Remove the 2 screws and 2 stoppers from the drive rails.

  8. REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM 

    Slide the sunshade trim rearward to remove it.

  9. REMOVE DRIVE CABLES 

    Slide the drive cables forward to remove them from the drive rails.

  10. REMOVE REAR HOUSING FRAME 

    Remove the 2 screws and rear housing frame from the center housing frame.

  11. REMOVE CENTER HOUSING FRAME 

    Remove the 4 screws and center housing frame from the drive rails.

  12. REMOVE BRACKETS 

    Remove the 4 screws and brackets from the drive rails.
