Section 459 (Sliding Roof System): Reassembly

  1. INSTALL BRACKETS 

    Install the 2 brackets with the 4 screws to the drive rails.

  2. INSTALL CENTER HOUSING FRAME 

    Install the center housing frame with the 4 screws to the drive rails.

  3. INSTALL REAR HOUSING FRAME 

    Install the rear housing frame with the 2 screws to the center housing frame.

  4. INSTALL DRIVE CABLES 

    Slide the drive cables rearward to install them to the drive rails.

  5. INSTALL SUNSHADE TRIM 

    Slide the sunshade trim forward to install it.

  6. INSTALL DRIVE CABLE STOPPERS 

    Install the 2 drive cable stoppers with the 2 screws to the drive rails.

  7. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GUIDE BLOCKS 
    1. Slide the sliding roof guide block rearward to install it to the drive rail.
    2. Tighten the screw.
    3. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  8. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF CASING 

    Install the sliding roof casing with the 12 screws.

  9. INSTALL ROOF DRIP CHANNEL 

    Install the roof drip channel to the drive cables.

  10. INSTALL CABLE GUIDE CASING 
    1. Slide the drive cables forward.
    2. Insert the drive cables to the cable guide casing.
    3. Install the 10 screws.
  11. INSTALL DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the motor cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Turn the drive shaft with screwdriver to align the housing with gear point mark as shown in Fig 3 .
    3. Install the motor cover.
    4. Install the map lamp bracket with the 2 screws to the gear assembly.
    5. Install the drive gear assembly with the 2 bolts.

  12. INSTALL WIND DEFLECTOR PANEL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, slide the drive cable rearward.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Install the wind deflector panel with the 4 screws.
