Description & Operation: Introduction

The W55 5-speed is a constant mesh synchronized, floor shift transmission. All gear shifts except Reverse are accomplished through use of synchronizers. The 5th gear is an overdrive gear. Transmission components consist of input shaft, output shaft, shift rail assemblies and intermediate plate.
