Front Seat: Replacement
HINT:
- The following is the seat heater replacement procedure.
- Care should be taken during operation to protect the seat cover from scratches, dirt or accidental cuts.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE SEATBACK COVER AND SEAT CUSHION COVER (See DISASSEMBLY )
- TURN SEAT COVER INSIDE OUT
- REMOVE SEAT WIRE
Remove the 6 seat wires from the seat cushion cover and seat-back cover.
- REMOVE SEAT HEATER
- Seat cushion cover: Cut the 34 tack pins which are fastened to the seat heater, then remove the seat heater.
- Seatback cover: Cut the 12 tack pins which are fastened to the seat heater, then remove the seat heater.
- Seat cushion cover: INSTALL NEW SEAT HEATER
- Set a new seat heater.
HINT:
Face the marked side (part number) to the seat cushion cover.
- For part A, position the seat heater by aligning the end of the fin with the fold line of the listing pocket.
- For part B, position the seat heater by aligning outline of the fin with the seat cushion cover's seam.
- For part C, position the seat heater by aligning the fin with the seat cushion cover's seam.
- Using a tacker, attach tack pins to the side of the seat heater in the order from 1 to 12 and then attach the center part with tack pin.
Tacker: BANZAI 303XT or equivalent
NOTE: Do not substitute other metal part in place of tack pins. Insufficient distance between the heater and cover may result in damage to the heater.HINT:
- For mark a, align the fins of the seat heater against the cover's seam and attach them at the margin with a tack pins.
- For mark b, align the end of the fin with the fold line of the listing pocket and attach them with a tack pins.
- Attach tack pins on the seam side so that the wire can be threaded through the hole from the fold side.
- Sewing thread can be substituted for tack pins.
However, allow a distance of 6 - 7 mm (0.24 - 0.28 in.) between both sewed parts of the heater and cover.
- Set a new seat heater.
- Seatback cover: INSTALL NEW SEAT HEATER
- Set a new seat heater.
HINT:

- For part A, position the seat heater by aligning the end of the fin with the fold line of the listing pocket.
- Using a tacker, attach the seat heater to the seat back cover.

- Attach tack pins on the seam side so that the wire can be threaded through the hole from the fold side.
- For part B, attach tack pins to the margin of the Velcro.
- Sewing thread can be substituted for tack pins.
However, allow a distance of 6 - 7 mm (0.24 - 0.28 in.) between both sewed parts of the heater and cover.
- Set a new seat heater.
- INSTALL SEAT WIRE
Install the 6 seat wires to the seat cushion cover and seatback cover.
HINT:
Pass the wire over the seat heater as shown in the illustration.
- REVERSE SEAT COVER BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION
- INSTALL SEATBACK COVER AND SEAT CUSHION COVER (See REASSEMBLY )
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT (See INSTALLATION )
