Component Tests: Speedometer

- On-Vehicle Inspection -
Using a speedometer tester, inspect the speedometer for allowable indication error and check the operation of the odometer. Tire wear and tire over or under inflation will increase the indication error. See INSPECTING SPEEDOMETER ALLOWABLE INDICATION ERROR table. If error is excessive, replace the speedometer. Measure the resistance between terminals with fixing pointer to the stopper. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . See INSPECTING COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE table. If resistance value is not as specified, replace the meter. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
