Fuel Lid Lock Control: Replacement

HINT:

• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM ).

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 
   1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 luggage compartment trim hooks No. 1.
   2. Remove the mat.
   3. Remove the 2 clips and 2 deck side trim boards.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT 
   1. w/ Special utility package:

      Remove the 2 clips and cover.

   2. w/ Special utility package:

      Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips.

   3. w/o Special utility package:

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

   4. Using a screwdriver, pry out wire harness cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

   5. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 rope hooks.

      HINT:

      Turn the rope hook 90 degrees counterclockwise. Insert a screwdriver (with its tip taped) into the slit in the side of the rope hook. Hold down the claw inside the slit and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.

   6. w/ Special utility package:

      Remove the 2 clips.

   7. w/ Special utility package:

      Disengage the 6 claws and remove the cover.

   8. w/o Special utility package:

      Remove the 2 clips.

   9. w/o Special utility package:

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the trim.

3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 
   1. Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips labeled A.
   2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clips labeled B and remove the plate.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSY LH 
   1. Remove the tool bag.
   2. Remove the side trim tool bag cover.

   3. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and trim cover.

   4. w/ Special utility package:

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and trim cover.

   5. Remove the 3 bolts and tool box.

5. REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL ASSY 
   1. Remove the nut.

   2. Disconnect the connector.
   3. Remove the nut and control.

6. INSTALL FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL ASSY 
   1. Install the control with the nut.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

   2. Connect the connector.

   3. Tighten the nut.

      Torque: 11.5 N.m (117 kgf.cm, 7.5 ft.lbf)
