Lighting System: Inspection

  1. HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect light control switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      12 - 18 TAIL Below 1 Ω
      12 - 18 - 20 HEAD Below 1 Ω
      12 - 19 AUTO Below 1 Ω

    2. Inspect headlight dimmer switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      12 - 17 FLASH Below 1 Ω
      12 - 16 LOW BEAM Below 1 Ω
      11 - 12 HI BEAM Below 1 Ω
    3. Inspect turn signal switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TURN SIGNAL SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      12 - 13 Right turn Below 1 Ω
      - Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
      12 - 15 Left turn Below 1 Ω
    4. Inspect front fog light switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      FRONT FOG LIGHT SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 4 Fog lamp switch ON Below 1 Ω
  2. CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH ASSY (W/O LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Inspect hazard warning signal switch assy operation.
      1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Condition Tester connection Specified condition
      OFF 7 - 11 Below 1 V
      ON 7 - 11 10 to 14 V

  3. MULTI-DISPLAY ASSY (W/LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Inspect hazard warning signal switch assy operation.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      M5-12 - M6-6 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      M5-12 - M6-6 ON Below 1 Ω
      M6-7 - M6-8 Illumination circuit Below 1 Ω

    2. Inspect illumination operation.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal M6-8 and the (-) lead to terminal M6-7, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on 

  4. FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      ON (When shaft is pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      OFF (When shaft is not pressed) Below 1 Ω
  5. REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      ON (When shaft is pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      OFF (When shaft is not pressed) Below 1 Ω
  6. BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/O POWER BACK DOOR) 
    1. Check the courtesy lamp switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Condition Tester connection Specified resistance
      1 - 2 Back door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Back door is opened Below 1 Ω

  7. BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/POWER BACK DOOR) 
    1. Check the courtesy lamp switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      1 - 6 Back door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 6 Back door is opened Below 1 Ω

  8. FOG LAMP RELAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      FOG LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      3 - 5 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  9. TAIL LAMP RELAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TAIL LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      3 - 5 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  10. BRAKE RELAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      BRAKE RELAY RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      3 - 4 Always Below 1 Ω
      3 - 4 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  11. TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER 
    1. Inspect key cylinder operation.
      1. Connect the (+) lead to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to the terminal 6, and check that the indicator light comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  12. MAP LAMP ASSY 
    1. Inspect map lamp assy in the overhead J/B.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      6 - 17 DOOR Continuity

  13. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 1 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard:

  16. LH VISOR ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      ON (Opened) Continuity
      OFF (Closed) 10 kΩ or higher
  17. RH VISOR ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      ON (Opened) Continuity
      OFF (Closed) 10 kΩ or higher
  18. INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY NO. 1 
    1. Inspect step light.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  19. INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY NO. 1 RH 
    1. Inspect step light.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  20. CONSOLE BOX ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY 
    1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  21. REAR CONSOLE BOX HOLDER CUP 
    1. Inspect cup holder illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  22. FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  23. FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  24. REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard:

  25. REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY RH

    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
