Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When not using an intelligent tester, go to the combination meter system (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the CRUISE main indicator light comes on.

      Combination meter (Meter ECU): 

      COMBINATION METER (METER ECU) REFERENCE TABLE

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      CRUISE INDIC Turns CRUISE main indicator light ON / OFF -

      OK: 

      Indicator light comes on. 

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. READ VALUE ON INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on, and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
    3. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the CRUISE main indicator light.

      ECM (Cruise control): 

      NORMAL CONDITION TABLE

      OK: 

      When the cruise control main switch is operated, the display changes as shown above. 

      HINT:

      1 is OK, but 2 is NG → DTC output or ECM failure

    NG: REPLACE ECM 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
