Lighting System: Inspection

  1. HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY

    1. Inspect light control switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      12 - 18 TAIL Below 1 Ω
      12 - 18 - 20 HEAD Below 1 Ω
      12 - 19 AUTO Below 1 Ω
    2. Inspect headlight dimmer switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      12 - 17 FLASH Below 1 Ω
      12 - 16 LOW BEAM Below 1 Ω
      11 - 12 HI BEAM Below 1 Ω
    3. Inspect turn signal switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TURN SIGNAL SWITCH RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      TURN SIGNAL SWITCH RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      12 - 13 Right turn Below 1 Ω
      - Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
      12 - 15 Left turn Below 1 Ω
    4. Inspect front fog light switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in FRONT FOG LIGHT SWITCH RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    FRONT FOG LIGHT SWITCH RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
    - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 4 Fog lamp switch ON Below 1 Ω
  2. CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH ASSY (W/O LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)

    1. Inspect hazard warning signal switch assy operation.
      1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH ASSY VOLTAGE  .

    Standard: 

    CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH ASSY VOLTAGE

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF 7 - 11 Below 1 V
    ON 7 - 11 10 to 14 V
  3. MULTI-DISPLAY ASSY (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)

    1. Inspect hazard warning signal switch assy operation.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in MULTI-DISPLAY ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      MULTI-DISPLAY ASSY RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      M5- 12 - M6-6 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      M5- 12 - M6-6 ON Below 1 Ω
      M6- 7 - M6-8 illumination circuit Below 1 Ω
    2. Inspect illumination operation.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal M6-8 and the (-) lead to terminal M6-7, then check that the illumination comes on.

    Standard: 

    Comes on 

  4. FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE

    Switch operation Specified resistance
    ON (When shaft is pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
    OFF (When shaft is not pressed) Below 1 Ω
  5. REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE

    Switch operation Specified resistance
    ON (When shaft is pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
    OFF (When shaft is not pressed) Below 1 Ω
  6. BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/O POWER BACK DOOR)

    1. Check the courtesy lamp switch.
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/O POWER BACK DOOR) RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/O POWER BACK DOOR) RESISTANCE

    Condition Tester connection Specified resistance
    1 - 2 Back door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
    1 - 2 Back door is opened Below 1 Ω
  7. BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/ POWER BACK DOOR)

    1. Check the courtesy lamp switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/ POWER BACK DOOR) RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/ POWER BACK DOOR) RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      1 - 6 Back door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 6 Back door is opened Below 1 Ω
  8. FOG LAMP RELAY

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in FOG LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      FOG LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      3 - 5 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
  9. TAIL LAMP RELAY

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TAIL LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    TAIL LAMP RELAY RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
    3 - 5 Always 10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
  10. BRK RELAY

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in BRK RELAY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      BRK RELAY RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      3 - 4 Always Below 1 Ω
      3 - 4 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
  11. TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

    1. Inspect key cylinder operation.
      1. Connect the (+) lead to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to the terminal 6, and check that the indicator light come on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on 

  12. MAP LAMP ASSY

    1. Inspect map lamp assy in the overhead J/B.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in MAP LAMP ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      MAP LAMP ASSY RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      6 - 17 DOOR Continuity
      5 - 17 ON Continuity
  13. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.1

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 1 RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 1 RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - 3 DOOR Continuity
      1 - 3 ON Continuity
  14. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.2 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 2 RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 2 RESISTANCE

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      ON Continuity
      OFF 10 kΩ or higher
  15. GLOVE BOX LAMP ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in GLOVE BOX LAMP ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      GLOVE BOX LAMP ASSY RESISTANCE

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      ON (When shaft is pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      OFF (When shaft is not pressed) Continuity
  16. LH VISOR ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LH VISOR ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard: 

      LH VISOR ASSY RESISTANCE

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      ON (opened) Continuity
      OFF (Closed) 10 kΩ or higher
  17. RH VISOR ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in RH VISOR ASSY RESISTANCE  .

    Standard: 

    RH VISOR ASSY RESISTANCE

    Switch operation Specified resistance
    ON (opened) Continuity
    OFF (Closed) 10 kΩ or higher
  18. INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY NO.1 
    1. Inspect step light.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

    Standard: 

    Comes on

  19. INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY NO.1 RH 
    1. Inspect step light.
    1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

    Standard: 

    Comes on

  21. CONSOLE BOX ILLUMINATION LAMP ASSY 
    1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  22. REAR CONSOLE BOX HOLDER CUP 
    1. Inspect cup holder illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  23. FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  24. FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  25. REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  26. REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Inspect door handle illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  27. FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  28. FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  29. REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      Standard: 

      Comes on

  30. REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Inspect scuff plate illumination.
      1. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the illumination comes on.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCE  .

      Standard:
