Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 2 Exhaust Side) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring of the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.
    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 2 Intake Side) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring of the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.
    3. Connect the oil control valve connector.

  3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. CONNECT COLD START FUEL INJECTOR ASSY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL ENGINE REAR COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. CONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. CONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. CONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. CONNECT WATER BYPASS HOSE (see  INSPECTION   ) 
  11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (see  INSTALLATION   ) 
  12. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE (see  INSTALLATION   ) 
  13. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 1 Intake Side) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring of the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.
    3. Install the V-bank cover bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

  14. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 1 Exhaust Side) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring of the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.
    3. Connect the oil control valve connector.
  15. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  17. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  18. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (see  INSTALLATION   )

  19. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (see  INSTALLATION   ) 
  20. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (see  INSTALLATION   ) 
  21. INSTALL V-BANK COVER (see  INSTALLATION   ) 
  22. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  23. DRIVING TEST 
    1. After the engine is warmed up, perform the driving test. Then check that the oil control valve operates normally.
