Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK SPEAKER 
    1. Check the malfunctioning speakers.

      Result

  2. CHECK SPEAKER 
    1. Check the malfunctioning speakers.

  3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the F9 and F10 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approx. 4 Ω*1
      1 - 2 Always 7 to 9 Ω*2
      HINT:
      *1: for 9 speaker models
      *2: for 12 speaker models

    NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  4. CHECK DEFECTIVE SPEAKER AND VEHICLE EQUIPMENT 
    1. Check which side of the vehicle the defective speaker is on. Also, check if the vehicle is equipped with the LEXUS Link System.

      Result 

      DEFECTIVE SPEAKER AND VEHICLE EQUIPMENT

      Defective speaker location Proceed to
      Defective speaker is on right side (w/ LEXUS Link System) A
      Defective speaker is on right side (w/o LEXUS Link System) B
      Defective speaker is on left side B

    B: Go to step   7 

    A: Go to Next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAYDAY ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER AND FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the S40 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the F10 speaker connector.
    3. Disconnect the M15 ECU connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      MAYDAY ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER AND FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F10-1 - M15-2 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F10-2 - M15-3 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-1 (FR+) - M15-10 (SPI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-5 (FR-) - M15-11 (SPI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      M15-2 (SPO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M15-3 (SPO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M15-10 (SPI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M15-11 (SPI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  6. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (OPERATION) 
    1. After replacing the stereo component amplifier with a normal one, check that the audio sound can be heard from the front RH side speaker.

      OK: Audio sound can be heard. 

    NG: REPLACE MAYDAY ECU 

    OK: END (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the F9 and F10 speaker connectors.
    2. Disconnect the S40 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      for LH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S40-2 (FL+) - F9-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-6 (FL-) - F9-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-2 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S40-6 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S40-1 (FR+) - F10-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-5 (FR-) - F10-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S40-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  8. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the F13 and F14 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approx. 4 Ω*1
      1 - 2 Always 4 to 8 Ω*2
      HINT:
      *1: for 9 speaker models
      *2: for 12 speaker models

    NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the S41 amplifier connector.

    3. Disconnect the F13 and F14 speaker connectors.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      for LH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S43-2 (ML+) - F13-4 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-6 (ML-) - F13-3 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-2 (ML+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S43-6 (ML-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S43-8 (MR+) - F14-4 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-7 (MR-) - F14-3 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-8 (MR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S43-7 (MR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  10. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the F11 and F12 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approx. 4 Ω

    NG: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER - STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the F11, F12, F13 and F14 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      for LH 

      FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER - STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F13-1 (-) - F11-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F13-2 (+) - F11-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F13-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F13-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER - STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F14-1 (-) - F12-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F14-2 (+) - F12-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F14-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F14-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  12. INSPECT FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the C6 speaker connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 7 to 9 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the C6 speaker connector.
    2. Disconnect the S41 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S41-3 (CTR+) - C6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-9 (CTR-) - C6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-3 (CTR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S41-9 (CTR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  14. CHECK SPEAKER 
    1. Check the malfunctioning speakers.

      Result

  15. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the R22 and R23 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approx. 4 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the S40 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the R22 and R23 speaker connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      for LH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S40-3 (RL+) - R22-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-9 (RL-) - R22-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-3 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S40-9 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S40-4 (RR+) - R23-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S40-10 (RR-) - R23-2 Always Below 1 Ω

  17. INSPECT WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the W6 speaker connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 3 Always Approx. 4 Ω
      2 - 4 Always

    NG: REPLACE WOOFER BOX SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  18. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - WOOFER BOX SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the S41 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the W6 speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S41-1 (WF1+) - W6-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-5 (WF1-) - W6-4 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-2 (WF2+) - W6-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-6 (WF2-) - W6-3 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-1 (WF1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  19. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the R22 and R23 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 14 to 18 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  20. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the S43 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the R22 and R23 speaker connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      for LH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S43-3 (RL+) - R22-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-9 (RL-) - R22-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-3 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S43-9 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S43-4 (RR+) - R23-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-10 (RR-) - R23-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S43-4 (RR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S43-10 (RR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  21. INSPECT REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the B8 and B9 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 7 to 9 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  22. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the B8 and B9 speaker connectors.
    2. Disconnect the S41 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      for LH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S41-8 (SL+) - B8-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-7 (SL-) - B8-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-8 (SL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S41-7 (SL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S41-2 (SR+) - B9-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-6 (SR-) - B9-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-2 (SR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER 

  23. INSPECT WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the W6 speaker connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 4 Always 7 to 9 Ω

    NG: REPLACE WOOFER BOX SPEAKER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  24. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - WOOFER BOX SPEAKER)

    1. Disconnect the S41 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the W6 speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - WOOFER BOX SPEAKER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S41-1 (WF1+) - W6-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-5 (WF1-) - W6-4 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-1 (WF1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S41-5 (WF1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER
