Touch Sensor Circuit: Description: Wiring Diagram

  1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Following the display on the tester, select "DATA LIST".

    SMART KEY (Certification ECU):

    OFF: Touch sensor is not touched
    -

    OK: 

    "ON" (screen is touched) or "OFF" (screen is not touched) appears on the tester screen. 

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P33 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the oscillator connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
    P33-5 (SEL1) - e2-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
    P33-22 (SEN1) - e2-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
    P33-6 (SEL2) - n2-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
    P33-23 (SEN2) - n2-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
    P33-5 (SEL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
    P33-22 (SEN1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
    P33-6 (SEL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
    P33-23 (SEN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK AND REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (CHECK OPERATION OF OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Replace the door oscillator.
    2. Check that the entry UNLOCK function operates normally.

    OK: 

    Entry UNLOCK function operates normally. 

    NG : END (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT CERTIFICATION ECU 
    1. Reconnect the ECU and the oscillator connectors.
    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard voltage 

    STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    SEL1 (P33-5) - Body ground Move the key more than 5 m (16.4 ft) away from the front door LH 10 to 14 V
    SEL1 (P33-5) - Body ground Bring it to the outside handle Below 1V
    SEL2 (P33-6) - Body ground Move the key more than 5 m (16.4 ft) away from the front door RH 10 to 14 V
    SEL2 (P33-6) - Body ground Bring it to the outside handle Below 1V
    SEN1 (P33-22) - Body ground Front door LH outside handle is not held 10 to 14 V
    SEN1 (P33-22) - Body ground Front door LH outside handle is held Below 1V
    SEN2 (P33-23) - Body ground Front door RH outside handle is not held 10 to 14 V
    SEN2 (P33-23) - Body ground Front door RH outside handle is held Below 1V

    NG : REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
