Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/ Engine under cover assembly: Remove the engine under cover assembly.
  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 1 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 2 
    1. W/ Engine under cover No. 2: Remove the engine under cover No. 2.
  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY W/ PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE CENTER AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    (See REMOVAL )

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.
    2. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    3. Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.

    4. Remove the bolt and transmission control cable bracket No. 2.

    5. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle.

    6. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the cable end from the shift lever assembly.
    7. Turn the socket of the transmission control cable assembly counterclockwise and remove the stopper cap.
    8. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.
