How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 

    Refer to how to proceed with troubleshooting (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).

  3. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC* 

    Refer to the DTC check/clear (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

  4. CHECK INITIAL CHECK FUNCTION 

    Refer to operation check (see OPERATION CHECK  ).

    Result Proceed to
    Symptom does not occur A
    Symptom occurs B

    B: Go to step   6 

    A: Go to next step. 

  5. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 

    Refer to how to proceed with troubleshooting (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).

  6. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 

    Refer to how to proceed with troubleshooting (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

    HINT:

    This ECU is connected to the multiplex communication system. Therefore, be sure to check that there are no problems in the multiplex communication system before performing troubleshooting.

  7. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 

    Refer to how to proceed with troubleshooting (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

    HINT:

    This ECU is connected to the CAN communication system. Therefore, be sure to check that there are no problems in the CAN communication system before performing troubleshooting.

  8. DTC CHECK* 

    *: Refer to the DTC check/clear (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

    DTC is not output B

    B: Go to step   10 

    A: Go to next step. 

  9. DTC TABLE 

    Refer to the diagnostic trouble code table (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE  ).

    Go to step   11 

  10. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    Refer to the problem symptoms table (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

  11. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 
  12. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM 
  13. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  14. CONFIRMATION TEST
