Charging (4GR-FSE): Generator: Installation

  1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 generator brackets with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the generator assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

    3. Install the bracket with the nut.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    4. Install the generator wire to terminal B with the nut (A).

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

    5. Install the terminal cap.
    6. Install the clamp bracket with the bolt (B).

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    7. Attach the 2 clamps, and connect the generator connector to the generator.
  2. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Install the wire harness with the 3 nuts (A).

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    2. Connect the 2 connectors (B).
  3. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 2 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER (See Step 28 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL RADIATOR INLET HOSE (See Step 6 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (See Step 93 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See Step 5 in  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  9. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  10. INSTALL NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER (See Step 87 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 115 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See Step 116 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See Step 118 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
  1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
