Inspection Procedure

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  .

If the multiplex communication system is operating normally, proceed to the next step.

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
4. Select the item (s) below in the ACTIVE TEST, and check the operation.

   ACTIVE TEST: METER

   AFS INDICATOR	AFS OFF indicator light OFF / ON	-

   OK: AFS OFF indicator comes on. 

NG: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM  

OK: Go to Next Step 

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
4. Turn the clearance sonar main switch on.
5. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the intelligent tester.

   OK: REPLACE AFS ECU 

NG: Go to Next Step 

1. Check the operation speed of the satellite switch and the tach indicator system.

   OK: Tach indicator system operates normally. 

NG: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM  

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
