How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
NEXT: Go to next step
- CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS
NEXT: Go to next step
- CHECK FOR DTC*
- Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Delete the DTC.
- Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTC output above, try to force output of the same SFI or engine immobilizer system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
