Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (SEAT-A/C FAN, SEAT-A/C LH, LH-IG) 
    1. Remove the SEAT-A/C FAN fuse from the cowl side junction block RH.
    2. Remove the SEAT-A/C LH fuse from the engine room relay block.
    3. Remove the LH-IG fuse from the main body ECU.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      SEAT-A/C FAN fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      SEAT-A/C LH fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      LH-IG fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the c38 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c38-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      c38-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      c38-2 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SWITCH LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the E93 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E93-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E93-7 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. INSPECT CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. Disconnect the E93 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5(V5L) - 4(VSL) Max cool → Max warm Below 1 Ω → 5 kΩ

    NG: REPLACE CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SWITCH LH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SWITCH LH) 
    1. Disconnect the c38 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E93 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c38-14 (V5) - E93-5 (V5L) Always Below 1 Ω
      c38-18 (VS) - E93-4 (VSL) Always Below 1 Ω
      c38-15 (VG) - E93-3 (VGL) Always Below 1 Ω
      c38-14 (V5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      c38-18 (VS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      c38-15 (VG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
