Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus LS 600hL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Use the intelligent tester or Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

    Result 

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
    CAN DTC is not output A
    CAN DTC is output B

    B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next Step 

  2. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION) 
    1. Check that the driver side seat can be moved using the seat memory switch

      OK: Driver side seat can be moved using seat memory switch. 

      NG: GO TO POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

      OK: Go to next Step 

  3. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (REGISTRATION OF SEAT MEMORY SWITCH) 
    1. Check that the memory operation is properly completed
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If the operation fails, the mirror facing direction will not be memorized until the SET switch is turned off.
      • The mirror facing direction will not be memorized when the mirror is operated manually.

      OK: Driver side seat position can be memorized using seat memory switch (driver side). 

      NG:  Go to step  4

      OK: SYSTEM IS OK 

  4. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (MIRROR POSITION MEMORY) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror position memory
