Section 147 (Engine Control System (Service Information)): ECM: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  4. REMOVE ECM COVER 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM cover.

      NOTE:
      • Remove all water on and around the ECM cover.
      • Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
      • Be sure to prevent water intrusion to the ECM (connectors and screw parts).
  5. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connectors.
      1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector holder.

      2. Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
