Installing Break-Out Box

Some diagnostic procedures in this section require that a Break-Out box be connected to the 35-pin EBCM connector using the following procedure. The Break-Out box allows a remote method of testing the pins in the 35-pin connector without damaging the pins.

  1. Remove the 2 retainers holding the EBCM to the panel. Depress locking plate and remove the 35-pin connector from the EBCM using a rocking motion, rotating the connector toward the forward end of the module.
  2. Inspect the 35-pin harness connector for damage. Connect Break-Out Box connector to harness connector.
