Module Check
- Turn ignition off. Connect voltmeter as in QUICK TEST A1 . Using jumper wire, ground circuit No. 200. Start engine. Rotate steering wheel in both directions for 90 seconds. Note changes in required turning effort. Effort should vary noticeably.
- After 90 seconds, if system is okay, voltmeter will indicate a sweep pattern between battery voltage and zero. Pattern will repeat 4 times, there will be 5-second delay and pattern will repeat again. If system malfunctions, 6 or no sweeps will occur.
- If effort changes with sweeps, proceed to QUICK TEST A4 . If effort is unchanged with 4 sweeps, proceed to QUICK TEST A7 . If 2 sweeps are observed. proceed to QUICK TEST A19 . If no effort change is noted with zero or 6 sweeps, proceed to QUICK TEST A12 . If effort change is noted with zero or 6 sweeps, proceed to QUICK TEST A20 .
