Cruise Control Systems: Self-Diagnostics: Quick-Tests: Notes

QUICK-TESTS are divided into 2 types: Key On, Engine Off (KOEO) Test and Key On, Engine Running (KOER) Test. QUICK-TESTS are not conclusive by themselves; they are meant to be used with appropriate CIRCUIT TEST diagnostic procedure.

EEC-IV ECA stores QUICK-TEST program in its permanent memory. QUICK-TESTS check operational capability of cruise control system. They also verify sensors and actuators are connected, and operating properly. A fault must be present at time of testing in order to be detected.

Key On, Engine Off (KOEO) Test checks cruise control system with power applied and engine off. Actuators are actuated and results are checked.

Key On, Engine Running (KOER) Test checks cruise control system with engine running, under normal conditions, at normal operating temperatures. Actuators are actuated and results are checked.

NOTE: DO NOT  depress throttle during KOEO Test.
