Pinpoint Test C - Single Mirror Does Not Function Properly

  1. Power Mirror System Circuit Function Check  - Partially remove memory mirror module. Ensure correct wire color is at specified pin in memory mirror module Gray connector. See TESTING MEMORY MODULE CONNECTOR CIRCUIT FUNCTION  table. See Figure . Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at each pin as mirror switch is actuated. If battery voltage is indicated at specified pins, go to Memory Mirror Module Outputs Check. If battery voltage is not indicated at specified pins, go to next step.
TESTING MEMORY MODULE CONNECTOR CIRCUIT FUNCTION

Pin No. (Wire Color) Circuit Function
2 (Red/Orange) Mirror Switch Horizontal Left
3 (Purple/Orange) Mirror Switch Horizontal Right
9 (Dark Blue/Orange) Mirror Switch Vertical Left
10 (Dark Green/Orange) Mirror Switch Vertical Right
  2. Suspect Circuit Check  - Remove power mirror switch, leaving harness connected. Using voltmeter or test light, backprobe switch harness connector while actuating switch. See Figure . See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR PIN IDENTIFICATION table. If switch functions properly, repair crossed wires at switch connector. Retest system. If switch does not function properly, replace switch and retest system.
  3. Memory Mirror Module Outputs Check  - Using a test light, backprobe memory mirror module Black connector. See Figure . Actuate power mirror switch. If test light comes on as switch activates each circuit, go to next step. If test light does not come on as specified, replace memory mirror module. Retest system.
  4. Circuit Check At Mirror  - Remove mirror glass at suspect mirror. Using a test light, probe suspect circuit(s) at mirror connector. Actuate switch. If test light comes on at appropriate switch positions, replace mirror motor assembly. If test light does not come on at appropriate switch positions, repair crossed wires. Retest system.
