Pinpoint Test C - Single Mirror Does Not Function Properly
- Power Mirror System Circuit Function Check
- Partially remove memory mirror module. Ensure correct wire color is at specified pin in memory mirror module Gray connector. See TESTING MEMORY MODULE GRAY CONNECTOR CIRCUIT FUNCTION table. Refer to Fig. Figure
. Using voltmeter, actuate mirror switch, and check for battery voltage at appropriate pin. If battery voltage is indicated, go to step 3). If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.TESTING MEMORY MODULE GRAY CONNECTOR CIRCUIT FUNCTION
Pin No. (Wire Color) Circuit Function 4 (Purple/Orange) Mirror Switch Vertical Right 5 (Red/Orange) Mirror Switch Horizontal Left 13 (Dark Green/Orange) Mirror Switch Horizontal Right 14 (Dark Blue/Orange) Mirror Switch Vertical Left - Suspect Circuit Check - Remove power mirror switch, leaving harness connected. Using voltmeter or test light, backprobe switch harness connector while actuating switch. See Figure . See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR PIN IDENTIFICATION table. If switch functions properly, repair crossed wires at switch connector. Retest system. If switch does not function properly, replace switch and retest system.
- Memory Mirror Module Outputs Check - Actuate power mirror switch, and backprobe memory mirror module Black connector at appropriate terminal using test light. See Figure . See POWER MIRROR SWITCH PIN IDENTIFICATION table. If test light comes on as switch activates each circuit, go to next step. If test light does not come on, replace memory mirror module. Retest system.
- Circuit Check At Mirror - Remove mirror glass at suspect mirror. Using test light, probe suspect circuit(s) at mirror connector. Actuate switch. If test light comes on at appropriate switch positions, replace mirror motor assembly. If test light does not come on at appropriate switch positions, repair crossed wires. Retest system.
