Test F: Smart Lock Feature Does Not Operate Properly

  1. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module SELF-TEST. If DTC U1135 or U1199 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC U1135 or U1199 is retrieved, go to appropriate article. See DTC DEFINITIONS TABLE (DRIVER DOOR MODULE)  under SYSTEM TESTING.
  2. Using NGS tester, access driver's door module PID D_DR_DD. Open driver's door. If PID D_DR_DD does not read AJAR, go to next step. If PID D_DR_DD reads AJAR, go to step 6).
  3. Disconnect driver's door ajar switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and Black/Light Blue wire at driver's door ajar switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
  4. Using NGS tester, access driver's door module PID D_DR_DD. Connect a jumper wire between driver's door ajar switch harness connector terminals. If PID D_DR_DD does not read AJAR, go to next step. If PID D_DR_DD reads AJAR, replace driver's door ajar switch.
  5. Disconnect driver's door module harness connector C455. Measure resistance in Black/Orange wire between terminal No. 11 at driver's door module harness connector C455 and driver's door ajar switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace driver's door module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Orange wire.
  6. Using NGS tester, access SCIL control module PID P_DR_SW. Open passenger's door. If PID P_DR_SW does not read AJAR, go to next step. If PID P_DR_SW reads AJAR, go to step 10).
  7. Disconnect passenger's door ajar switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and Black/Light Blue wire at passenger's door ajar switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
  8. Using NGS tester, access SCIL control module PID P_DR_SW. Connect a jumper wire between passenger's door ajar switch harness connector terminals. If PID P_DR_SW does not read AJAR, go to next step. If PID P_DR_SW reads AJAR, replace passenger's door ajar switch.
  9. Disconnect SCIL control module harness connector C286. See Figure . Measure resistance in Black/Yellow wire between terminal No. 15 at SCIL control module harness connector C286 and passenger's door ajar switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace SCIL control module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Yellow wire.
  10. Using NGS tester, access driver's door module active command DOOR LOCK CONTROL. Command LOCK on. Command LOCK off. Command UNLOCK on. If doors lock and unlock when commanded, replace driver's door module. If doors do not lock and unlock when commanded, repair power door lock system. See DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article.
