Test J: No Communication With SCIL Module
- Test Black/Light Blue Wire For Open - Disconnect Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting (SCIL) module harness connector C288. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 14 (Black/Light Blue wire) at SCIL module harness connector C288. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
- Test Black Wire For Open - Disconnect SCIL module harness connector C287. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Black wire) at SCIL module harness connector C287. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
- Test Voltage At SCIL Module Harness Connector C287 - Measure voltage at terminal No. 11 (Dark Blue/Light Green wire), terminal No. 14 (Red/Orange wire), terminal No. 15 (White/Light Green wire) and terminal No. 26 (Light Blue/Red wire) at SCIL module harness connector C287. If battery voltage does not exist at one or more terminal, repair appropriate circuit and go to next step. If battery voltage exists at all terminals, test module communications. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
- Test Voltage At SCIL Module Harness Connector C289 - Disconnect SCIL module harness connector C289. Measure voltage at terminal No. 5 (Brown/White wire), terminal No. 6 (Orange/Black wire) and terminal No. 7 (Pink/Light Green wire) at SCIL module harness connector C289. If battery voltage does not exist at one or more terminal, repair appropriate circuit. If battery voltage exists at all terminals, test module communications. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
