Driver Seats With Memory

NOTE: A New Generation Star (NGS) tester is required to test the power seat system. If NGS tester does not communicate with vehicle refer to NGS tester manual.

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to data link connector. Perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If NGS tester responds with CKT 914, CKT 915 or CKT 70=ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, diagnose network concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If NGS tester responds with, NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Driver Seat Module (DSM), perform TEST L  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.

If NGS tester responds with SYSTEM PASSED for all modules, retrieve DTCs for DSM. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate diagnostic test. See appropriate DSM DTC DEFINITIONS table. If no DTCs were retrieved, repair system by symptom. See SYMPTOM CHART  and perform appropriate test.

(1) Refer to SYMPTOM CHART  for customer concern, then perform TEST G  or TEST H.
(2) See MEMORY MIRRORS - POWER article.
(3) Check charging system and repair as necessary. See GENERATORS article in the STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS section. If charging system is okay, repair wiring as necessary. See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DISTRIBUTION section in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
