System Checks (Using EEC-IV Breakout Box)

  1. Perform system checks for repairs if NGS tester is not available for retrieving DTCs. See ABS SYSTEM CHECKS  table. If specifications are as indicated in table, component/circuit is okay. If specifications are not as indicated in table, go to indicated DTC for component/circuit testing.
  2. If fault is intermittent, system checks will not isolate fault. Use NGS tester to retrieve DTCs if fault is intermittent. If system checks do not isolate symptom, See SYMPTOM TESTS  for symptom diagnosis.
ABS SYSTEM CHECKS

Component/Circuit Ignition Measure Between Breakout Box Terminals No. Specification Go To DTC
Battery Power Off Or On 9 & 8 10 Volts Minimum (1)
Battery Power Off Or On 25 & 24 10 Volts Minimum C1095
Ignition Feed Off 23 & 8 Zero Volt (1)
Ignition Feed On 23 & 8 10 Volts Minimum (1)
Left Front Sensor Resistance Off 4 & 11 2100-3300 Ohms C1155
Right Front Sensor Resistance Off 3 & 18 2100-3300 Ohms C1145
Left Rear Sensor Resistance Off 10 & 2 800-1400 Ohms C1175
Right Rear Sensor Resistance Off 17 & 1 800-1400 Ohms C1165
Left Front Sensor
Continuity To Ground Off 4 & 8 No Continuity C1155
Right Front Sensor
Continuity To Ground Off 3 & 8 No Continuity C1145
Left Rear Sensor
Continuity To Ground Off 10 & 8 No Continuity C1175
Right Rear Sensor
Continuity To Ground Off 17 & 8 No Continuity C1165
Left Front Sensor Voltage(2) Off 4 & 11 100-3500 Millivolts C1233
Right Front Sensor Voltage(2) Off 3 & 18 100-3500 Millivolts C1234
Left Rear Sensor Voltage(2) Off 10 & 2 100-3500 Millivolts C1236
Right Rear Sensor Voltage(2) Off 17 & 1 100-3500 Millivolts C1235
(1) Go to NO COMMUNICATION WITH ABS CONTROL MODULE  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
(2) Rotate wheel at one revolution per second.
