Disabling System

  1. To disable driver-side air bag, disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Wait one minute. This is time required for back-up power supply in diagnostic monitor to deplete its stored energy.
  2. Remove nuts and washers retaining driver-side air bag module to steering wheel. Disconnect air bag module electrical connector. Connect Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R0012) to air bag module electrical connector to simulate air bag.
  3. To disable passenger-side air bag, disconnect air bag electrical connector. Disconnect electrical connector under driver seat. Connect Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R0012) to wire harness under driver seat. Disconnect electrical connector under passenger seat. Connect air bag simulator to wire harness under passenger seat. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
