Spare Key Programming Switch

NOTE: Spare key programming switch is not a visible mechanical switch. A New Generation Star (NGS) tester is necessary to enable and disable this switch. The state of this switch can be viewed by accessing Powertrain Control Module (PCM) PID SPARE_KEY with NGS tester.

Insert a programmed ignition key into ignition switch. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Obtain security access. See SECURITY ACCESS . Using NGS tester, toggle SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING SWITCH to desired position.
