Disabling System

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Wait one minute. This is the time required for backup power supply in diagnostic monitor to deplete its stored energy.
  2. Remove instrument panel lower left trim panel, to access electrical connectors. Disconnect electrical connectors. Separate hood latch release cable and handle from steering column panel. Remove heater duct. Remove 2 bolts retaining driver-side air bag to steering wheel. Disconnect driver-side air bag module connector. Attach Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R0012) to air bag connector to simulate air bag.
  3. To disable passenger-side air bag, remove glove box. Disconnect passenger-side air bag electrical connector. Attach Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R0012) to air bag connector to simulate air bag. Connect battery ground. Move front seats to highest and most forward position. Disconnect passenger-side air bag connector.
  4. Under passenger seat, release connector bracket and remove passenger seat side air bag electrical connector. To disengage connector, slide locking clip and push in release tab. Attach Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R10012) to air bag connector to simulate air bag.
  5. Under driver seat, release tab on connector bracket and remove driver seat side air bag electrical connector. To disengage connector, slide locking clip and push in release tab. Attach Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-R10012) to air bag connector to simulate air bag.
