Recalling Programmed Positions

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Navigator, 2002 Ford Expedition, 2001 Lincoln Navigator, and 2001 Ford Expedition. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

To initiate memory recall, vehicle must be in Park or Neutral, and ignition switch MUST NOT be in START position. Memory recall can be initiated from driver's side door memory switch or remote entry transmitter. Seat positions No. 1 and 2 can be initiated by pressing respective buttons on memory switch. Seat position 3 is initiated by simultaneously pressing buttons No. 1 and 2 on memory switch. Remote entry transmitters are assigned personality numbers No. 1, 2 or 3 at manufacturer. Each transmitter has its assigned memory number on the back of the transmitter. Using the No. 1 transmitter will only recall memory position No. 1, and Nos. 2 and 3 transmitters will only recall memory positions Nos. 2 and 3 respectively. When UNLOCK switch on remote transmitter is pressed the first time, memory position corresponding to transmitter personality number will be initiated. Memory position can be recalled only while vehicle is in Park or Neutral with ignition switch in OFF position.
