Test G: Memory Mirror Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Ensure gearshift selector is in Park and ignition is off. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester following manufacturer's instructions. Retrieve Driver's Seat Module (DSM) DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs. Perform DSM self-test. If DTCs do not exist, go to next step. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test. See DRIVER'S SEAT MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Disconnect Central Security Module (CSM) 22-pin harness connector C257. CSM is located behind left side of instrument panel. Disconnect memory set switch 10-pin harness connector C503. Measure resistance in Brown/Light Green wire between memory set switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 4 and CSM harness connector C257 terminal No. 6. See Figure and Figure . Measure resistance of Black/Orange wire between memory set switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 3 and CSM harness connector C257 terminal No. 16. If both resistances are 5 ohms or less, repair power door lock system. See appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS - EXPEDITION & NAVIGATOR article. If either resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire between memory set switch and CSM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
