Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln Navigator and 2004 Ford Expedition. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
CAUTION: Prior to the removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the appropriate diagnostic equipment. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. NOTE: The module is accessed with the seat fully in the UP position.

  3. Slide the driver seat module forward to remove it from the bracket.
  4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the DSM.

  5. CAUTION: Once the module is installed it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the new module. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
