System Tests: Notes

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected or modules are replaced, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: Before replacing any control module, ensure all module ground and power circuits are functioning properly. For circuit identification, see GROUND DISTRIBUTION and POWER DISTRIBUTION articles in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
NOTE: Test procedures are written specifically for New Generation Star (NGS) tester. Generic scan tools may not have the capability of performing all the same functions. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.

(1) Use message center driver personality function to ensure easy exit/entry function is not disabled. If exit/entry function is disabled, enable exit/entry function using message center. If exit/entry function is enabled, check for Driver's Seat Module (DSM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  .
