Removal & Installation (LS)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cowl vent screen. Push on right hand corner of filter to release clip. Release left hand clip and remove air filter. Remove 7 bolts and cross vehicle support. Remove 4 bolts to air filter housing. Remove air filter housing by lifting outboard side, then removing housing. Remove 3 bolts and plenum panel.
  2. Loosen bolts and disconnect PCM harness connectors. Remove instrument panel finish panel located below glove box. Release assist cable from glove box. Lower glove box and release 2 tabs located at each hinge. Remove glove box. If equipped with CD changer, remove 5 screws and glove box inner panel. Remove 4 screws and glove box finish panel. Remove 2 PCM bracket bolts and bracket. Remove PCM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect negative battery cable. Connect scan tool to DLC. Select ICM on scan tool. Select ENTER SECURITY ASSESS. Wait 10 minutes for security access to be granted. Select PARAMETER RESET. Remove scan tool. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove key.
