MATERIALS

Item Specification
SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil XO-5W20-QSP or equivalent WSS-M2C153-H
  1. Using a suitable lifting crane, install the engine in the vehicle.

  2. NOTE: LH shown; RH similar.

  3. Install the LH and RH engine mount through-bolts.
  4. NOTE: RH shown; LH similar.

  5. Remove the engine lifting eyes.
  6. NOTE: Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil.

  7. Position the A/C compressor manifold assembly and install the bolt.
  8. Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal on the power steering pressure (PSP) tube fitting.

  9. Connect the PSP tube to the rack and pinion connection.

  10. Install the PSP hose support bracket.

  11. Connect the PSP switch electrical connector.

  12. Connect the power steering reservoir hose to the power steering cooler.

  13. Position the battery cable harness and install the pin-type retainers.

  14. CAUTION: Do not connect the negative battery cable at this time.
  15. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.
  16. Install the power distribution power supply electrical connector.

  17. Install the power distribution box electrical connection cover.

  18. Connect the two vacuum hoses.

  19. Connect the fuel tube. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM .
  20. Connect the brake booster hose to the intake manifold.

  21. Position the vacuum harness and install it in the retainer.

  22. Install the two bolts and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module.

  23. Connect the EGR system module tube nut to the EGR system module.

  24. Connect the electrical connector and the vacuum hose to the EGR system module.

  25. Position the ground strap and install the bolt.

  26. Install the wiring harness retaining clip and the wiring harness.

  27. Install the engine wiring harness into the three retaining clips.

  28. Connect the engine wiring harness and the electrical connector to the powertrain control module (PCM).

  29. Install the coolant hose to the intake manifold.

  30. Install the coolant hose into the retaining clips on the RH valve cover.

  31. Position the vacuum harness and install the two vacuum hoses.

  32. Install the two coolant hoses.

  33. Position the accelerator bracket and cables and install the two bolts.

  34. Install the speed control cable into the pin-type retainer.

  35. Connect the accelerator cable, the speed control cable and the throttle return spring.

  36. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 5R55S .
  37. Install the cooling module. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  38. Install the engine cooling fan. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  39. Install the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, AND ENGINE ELECTRONICS .
  40. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
  41. Connect the battery ground cable.
  42. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  43. Charge the A/C system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .
  44. Install the hood. For additional information, refer to BODY SYSTEM - EXTERIOR .
