Accelerator Pedal And Shaft - Adjustable: Removal

CAUTION: The adjustable pedal system must be indexed whenever the brake pedal assembly or the accelerator pedal assembly is serviced. For additional information, refer toDISC .
NOTE: Non-memory pedal shown, memory pedal similar.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the instrument panel close-out panel.
    1. Remove the three pushpins from the areas shown.
    2. Turn the lamp socket counterclockwise to disconnect it from the close-out panel.

  3. Remove accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft assembly.

  4. Disconnect the adjustable drive cable from the brake pedal and shaft assembly.

  5. Disconnect the drive motor electrical connector.

  6. Remove the two nuts and remove the accelerator pedal and shaft assembly.
