Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System Module

    NOTE: Access to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube is through the right front wheel well.
  1. Disconnect the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve system module tube upper fitting.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  2. Disconnect the EGR system module electrical connector.
  3. Remove the 2 EGR system module bolts.
    • When installing, tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. NOTE: The EGR system module sealing surfaces are soft metals.
  5. Remove the EGR system module.
    • Carefully clean and inspect the EGR sealing surfaces.
    • Discard the EGR system module gasket.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new EGR system module gasket with the side with the raised circle facing the intake manifold.
