Safety Belt With Anchor Plate Thread Damage

    NOTE: The lap/shoulder safety belts are factory-installed in their correct locations. If the belts are removed for any reason, they must be reinstalled. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . The 7/16 x 20 Torx® head anchor bolts must be hand-started and then tightened to 34-46 Nm (26-33 lb-ft).
  1. Remove the broken or stripped bolt.
  2. Drill out the internal threads in the safety belt anchor plate with a 27/64-inch drill.
  3. Rethread the anchor plate with a 1/2-13 tap.
  4. Blow out the chips.
  5. NOTE: Original parts are to be replaced with the service parts.
  6. Install the attachment parts in the correct sequence. Refer to the procedure in this section. Install a new bolt, hand-tighten and then tighten the bolt to 34-46 Nm (23-33 lb-ft).
